Emotionally Rich and Realistic Romance

Wow. I don't often read straight contemporary romance, but this book really worked for me. I really--really--loved Teague. He was alpha without being an asshole, sexy without being over the top cookie-cutter perfect, and intelligent without being being unrelatable.
I think I most appreciated both of the main characters' high emotional intelligence, and the author's crafting of characters who were definitely three-dimensional.The whole story really seemed....rooted. You know how some stories just seem to be floating without anchor? Like the main characters are well-executed, but there's no backdrop? That didn't happen here. There was this bedrock to the story that was icing on the cake. I know this is a series, and that's probably why (I think this is the 3rd book in the series?), but it totally stood alone.
And I'm going to go back and read the first two...and watch for the subsequent stories. I know Beck's gonna get his.
Great secondary characters. They seemed fresh and original. I appreciated that.
All in all, just a great story. Good character growth and development and realistic character motivations. This was the first book I've read by Robin Covington, but it definitely won't be the last!
